Indiana Suicide Prevention & Awareness Summit
Friday Arrivals
If you are arriving on Friday, please follow the signs to the Conference Center located around the back of the building. The registration desk will be just inside those doors.

Meals and Spending
Your Summit registration includes breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks on Wednesday. If you’re coming in the night before, or hanging out later on Wednesday, meals will be on your own. The local Suicide Prevention Coalition (of Johnson County) and Upstream will have a few small things for sale for donations – and will be able to accept a tap-to-pay card or exact cash. Otherwise, any additional costs will be at your discretion!
What to Wear
This is a professional conference, but jeans and khakis are fine – dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable to network and learn! Use your best judgment. Hotels tend to be a bit chilly so you may want to wear layers in case some meeting rooms are colder than others.
Connection Opportunities
The primary goal of the Summit is to share knowledge – but with a very close second goal of increasing social connection! Keep your eye out for opportunities to connect in traditional and non-traditional ways! Some of the connection points planned are:
- Game Night (Tuesday Evening, 6-8pm)
- Free! Just check-in at the registration desk and you can get pointed in the right direction – you’ll pass “GO!”, but not collect $200 (sorry, we’re on a budget!)
- Visiting the Vendor Area (Wednesday, 7-4:30pm)
- Visit and connect with our great vendors and sponsors – and (likely!) grab some free swag!
- Hygge Room (Wednesday, 8:30-4:30pm)
- Connection Questions on the Ballroom Tables
- Self-Connection Challenge
- Details for this will be announced at the Lunch and Afternoon Keynote, with materials available on the table
Continuing Education & Evaluation
Upstream will be utilizing our IPLA license to provide Category 1 Continuing Education Unit certificates for all attendees who complete the required paperwork, unless you just need a certificate of attendance! We will again apply to provide Library Education Units! To receive CEUs or LEUs, you MUST sign in at each Educational session in the Breakout Rooms (networking and feedback rooms won’t count!), and sign in as having attended the Keynotes at the Registration desk. You must then complete the evaluation form at the conclusion of the Summit, providing feedback and information on what you learned in the sessions before being re-directed to a separate survey to provide your name and contact information. These two surveys are not connected (and cannot be connected to see who says what!). This setup allows us to follow our charge to IPLA to evaluate sessions before giving out CEUs. We will announce this throughout the Summit, but it’s your responsibility to make sure you’ve signed in everywhere AND complete the evaluation form!
Cancellation Policy
Refunds are not available for registration cancellations after July 20th. Substitutions are allowed and should be e-mailed to Kathleen at kathleen@upstreamprevention.org no later than July 31. Special meal needs should be submitted within your Summit registration before July 31st in order to be accommodated.

Personal hotel room accommodation requests should be made directly with the Wyndham Indianapolis West (2544 Executive Dr, Indianapolis, IN). We will have a room block available on a first come, first booked basis soon!
