Social services programs
DMHA is a resource for Hoosiers struggling with drug addiction, alcoholism and other mental health issues.
Overall, the FSSA works to connect them with social services, health care and their communities. Access to such services are considered a protective factor when it comes to reducing suicide risk at the community level.
In addition to state-funded organizations, there are plenty of non-profits working at the state and local levels to bring resources to Hoosiers who need them. Making sure at-risk populations have access to such groups should be part of any community’s suicide prevention plan.
